Question:
Why are the “waterless” properties so important in Nu C?
Answer:
Vitamin C, when used in its purest form, is referred to as being in
a "reduced" state. This "reduced" state ensures that the Vitamin C is
being used at its full strength and effectiveness, which will produce
the greatest benefits for the skin. However, if pure Vitamin C is added
to a product that has water and that product is then exposed to air, it
becomes oxidized. This means it will lose its effectiveness and its
abilities to heal and rejuvenate the skin. You can tell when Vitamin C
becomes “oxidized" because it turns yellow and then brown. Many of the
Vitamin C products currently in the marketplace do this. Each time you
open the bottle, they appear a little darker in color until they finally
turn brown. NuVANTE chose to use Vitamin C in its "reduced" state in Nu C
to ensure that the consumer will experience the full health and
aesthetic benefits from the product.
